Focus list

No need to scan 600 cards, just the few that matter right now. Ranked by expected return times hit rate from the backtest. Current phase: Before the season starts.

Monday

Top up on the leaked informs

By Monday evening the full Team of the Week list is usually out. For every newly named player we buy the gold version while it is still in packs and therefore cheap. Little else happens today; the market is recovering from the weekend.

Tomorrow, Tuesday: Buy into the promo leaks

The week at a glance

The weekly rhythm sets when you buy and sell broadly. The leaks set which individual cards get added. Team of the Week and promos work differently: the inform names are known from Sunday, but the gold version only moves from Wednesday, and only for a few days. With a promo the price picks up before release and keeps running for another week afterwards. So we buy informs on Sunday and sell them on Friday, and we buy promo cards on Tuesday and hold them until the Thursday of the following week.

SundayStock up on meta cards, buy the leaked informsThe cheapest day of the week: Weekend League rewards and promo packs meet the fewest buyers. Today you buy broadly, and you sell it all again on Wednesday. The first Team of the Week names drop at the same time, and whenever a player is named we buy his gold version straight away. It costs the least today and goes out of packs on Wednesday.
MondayTop up on the leaked informsBy Monday evening the full Team of the Week list is usually out. For every newly named player we buy the gold version while it is still in packs and therefore cheap. Little else happens today; the market is recovering from the weekend.
TuesdayBuy into the promo leaksBy now it is usually clear who lands in Friday's promo. This is where you want to get in: in FC 26 the gold versions of those players were still at a normal price on Tuesday and were already 15 % higher on release day. For the Team of the Week it is the last chance instead: the leaks are public and plenty of people are piling in.
WednesdaySell the weekly trade, informs dropThe most expensive day of the week: the weekend supply has been cleared. Everything you bought broadly on Sunday goes out today. The new Team of the Week drops in the evening. From then on the gold versions of those players are out of packs and start to climb, so we keep holding those.
ThursdayClose the promo positions, buy nothing elseThe gold cards we bought before the last promo are six days past its release today, which is their high: in FC 26 they sat 43 % above entry on average and were in profit 87 % of the time. From tomorrow the promo leaves packs and the price breaks down. Buy nothing today: Division Rivals rewards flood the market, and anyone who bought on Thursday and sold on Sunday lost 11 % after EA tax on average in FC 26.
FridaySell the inform golds, the promo dropsTwo days after the inform release the gold version is paid best. We sell today rather than waiting for next week: as soon as the next Team of the Week drops, the card is back in packs and loses 23 % on average within three days. The new promo arrives in the evening; we have been holding the positions for it since Tuesday.
SaturdayWait for SundayCheap already, but Sunday is another 3 % cheaper on average. Hold on to your coins. The promo positions from Tuesday stay where they are, they run until Thursday.

Meta cards for launch

Official FC 27 ratings and attributes from the fut.gg database, plus the gameplay changes in the EA Pitch Notes. No price data, because there is none before the market opens.

The cards the game gets built around

No argument about how good they are, but they start at their highest price and fall for weeks after. Only buy after the first big drawdown.

CardClubWhy
91 Kylian MbappéSTReal MadridLALIGA EA SPORTS97 acceleration, 96 sprint speed, 95 finishing. No weakness, but expensive, and it falls for weeks after launch.
91 Erling HaalandSTManchester CityPremier LeagueThe strongest finishing and physical profile in the game, and headers now demand more precision, which suits him.
90 Ousmane DembéléSTParis SGLigue 1 McDonald's94 dribbling and 94 ball control, rated the best right winger in the database.
90 Lamine YamalRWFC BarcelonaLALIGA EA SPORTS95 dribbling, 94 agility. Exactly the attributes that gain from the new off-balance dribbling.
90 Michael OliseRMFC Bayern MünchenBundesliga92 dribbling with Bundesliga links, so the squad around him costs less.
89 Vini Jr.LWReal MadridLALIGA EA SPORTS94 acceleration and 94 agility, the second best left winger in the database.
89 Khvicha KvaratskheliaLWParis SGLigue 1 McDonald's92 dribbling, playable on either wing.
88 Achraf HakimiRBParis SGLigue 1 McDonald's95 sprint speed plus elite stamina. The default right back.
89 Nuno MendesLBParis SGLigue 1 McDonald'sThe highest rated left back, with no gap between pace and defending.
90 PedriCMFC BarcelonaLALIGA EA SPORTS94 short passing and 93 vision. He carries possession.
90 RodriCDMFC BarcelonaLALIGA EA SPORTSThe best pure holding midfielder in the database, and defending attributes matter again now that the AI defends worse.
90 Jude BellinghamCAMReal MadridLALIGA EA SPORTS93 stamina, and stamina counts for more now that pressing drains players faster.

Strong stats, moderate price

This is the best trade-off between what a card does on the pitch and what it costs to get in.

CardClubWhy
87 Federico ValverdeCMReal MadridLALIGA EA SPORTSPlayable in midfield, at holding midfield and at right back. That flexibility saves you a whole squad budget.
88 William SalibaCBArsenalPremier League92 standing tackle. Manual defending matters more this year, automatic defending less.
84 Jérémy DokuLWManchester CityPremier League95 acceleration, 93 agility. The profile that gains most from EA levelling out the AcceleRATE types.
82 Alphonso DaviesLBFC Bayern MünchenBundesliga93 pace at a rating that sits well below how he actually plays.
87 Gregor KobelGKBorussia DortmundBundesligaThe best goalkeeper profile outside the expensive names.
81 Micky van de VenCBSpursPremier League90 pace and 93 jumping at centre back, a rare combination.
84 Nico WilliamsLWAthletic ClubLALIGA EA SPORTS92 pace and 92 agility, with La Liga links to the Real and Barcelona cards.
84 Bryan MbeumoRMMan UtdPremier League89 pace, playable up front and out wide.

Cheap and still effective

Low rating, high stats, small price. In FC 26 this was the most profitable group of the opening weeks.

80 Andrei RațiuRBRayo VallecanoLALIGA EA SPORTS94 pace for a three to four figure price. The classic starter squad lever.
81 Jeremie FrimpongRBLiverpoolPremier League95 acceleration, cheap because the rating looks low.
80 Loïs OpendaSTOLLigue 1 McDonald's94 pace and 94 acceleration up front, with Bundesliga links.
80 Fikayo TomoriCBMilano FCSerie A EniliveStrong defending at a low rating, and he gains from the weaker AI defending.
83 Donyell MalenSTAS RomaSerie A EnilivePace, finishing and dribbling all above 83 at a low price.

Which cards actually turn out to be meta is decided in the finished game. Before launch nobody has played the retail build in public. Once the market opens, measured signals replace this list.

What actually works in the first weeks

The cards talked up as meta at launch really do jump in the first few days: in FC 26 Ekitiké went from 6,000 to 37,000 coins in 24 hours. Holding them is what costs you: cards that creators called a buy in the first six weeks were down 54 % on average after 30 days, and 59 % after six weeks. Meta hype is a trade over days, not an investment over weeks.

Centre-backs and full-backs held up best in FC 26 (up 4 % over 30 days), strikers worst (down 19 %) along with cards rated 88 and above (down 23 %). The most reliable rule of the launch phase stays the same: sell what you pack, and build coins for the first big dip.

FC 27 launches in 4 days. Until there is a market, signals come from leaks only. From early access the list fills up every day, and the first rule of the launch weeks is to sell, not buy, anyway.
No cards with a price in the database yet. Once the price collector is running, the current focus list will be here every day.

Buy now

Expected rise over the next 7 days from season phase, weekday, leaks and creator calls. In the FC 26 backtest, buy signals were right 63 to 68 % of the time, with an average move of +19 %.

No card in this category right now. That is normal: in quiet market phases there is not a clear signal every day.

Sell now

Cards the model expects to lose value over the next 7 days. Sell signals are the most reliable ones: a 74 % hit rate in the backtest. If a value for tomorrow is shown underneath, it pays to sell today: when the model calls 5 % down for tomorrow, the card fell 66 % of the time in the backtest, by 4.8 % on average.

No card in this category right now. That is normal: in quiet market phases there is not a clear signal every day.

Price range update expected

These cards have been stuck at the top of their EA price range for more than a week. At some point EA raises the range and the price jumps. In FC 26 cards like this gained 168 % over 30 days on average, and more than 50 % in 40 % of cases. This is an investment over weeks, not a trade over days: usually nothing happens in the first week.

No card in this category right now. That is normal: in quiet market phases there is not a clear signal every day.
